Until 1956 this room of our old hospital held four beds and was the cozy quarters of our ‘Women’s Ward.” In 1991 it was converted into our Main Art Gallery to showcase the artwork of our local talented artists. The gallery has recently been renovated with a new picture hanging system, deep red walls, and state of the art LED lighting to illuminate to perfection the art exhibits that change monthly.
Exhibits that occur annually in the Main Gallery include the Northwestern Polytechnic art students’ Exhibit in February, the Beaverlodge Art Club’s fundraising Miniature Show in March, the always colourful Quilt Show in April, and the Beaverlodge Regional High School art students’ show in May. Local artists and art groups proudly display their creations throughout the remaining months of the year.
