Toni Schuler

Toni in his studio

Toni was born and raised in Switzerland. In 1996 he immigrated with his wife and children to Canada and since then has lived and worked on an organic cattle ranch near Goodfare, Alberta.

During the long Canadian winters he has found time for a hobby that has turned into a passion. Mostly self-taught, studying art books and magazines and attending workshops, he progressed from photography to drawing to painting.

Predominantly a painter in watercolour, which he loves for its transparency and fluidity, he occasionally explores other media like oil, charcoal or pastel.

Toni finds inspiration everywhere for his paintings, but his favorite subjects are landscapes, water and florals.

He has exhibited in many solo and group shows throughout the region and has  been honoured with several awards.

As a member of organizations such as the Beaverlodge Art Society, Peace Watercolour Society and Federation of Canadian Artists he stays connected with the art world.
