The South Peace and Beaverlodge in particular has a century old tradition of visual art. Artist such as Euphemia McNaught and her close friend Evy McByan both arrived in the early years of the last century and were active painters, teachers and tireless supporters of art and culture for decades. They inspired and shaped succeeding generations of regional artist and created a legacy that endures today in institutions such the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie and the Beaverlodge Art and Culture Centre
BACS has embarked on a campaign to acquire as comprehensive collection as possible to preserve and document this tradition.
