I was born and raised in Switzerland. In 1996 I immigrated with my wife and children to Canada and since then have lived and worked on an organic cattle ranch near Goodfare, Alberta.

During the long Canadian winters I have found time for a hobby that has turned into a passion. Mostly self-taught, studying art books and magazines and attending workshops, I progressed from photography to drawing to painting.

Predominantly, I paint in watercolour, which I love for its transparency and fluidity; however, occasionally I explore other media like oil, charcoal or pastel.

Everywhere I look I find inspiration for my paintings, but my favorite subjects are landscapes, water and florals.

I have shown my work in various solo and group shows throughout the region. In participating in juried shows and competitions I have been honored with several awards.

As a member of organizations such as the Beaverlodge Art Society, Peace Watercolour Society and Federation of Canadian Artists I stay connected with the art world.

For this, my final exhibit before my wife and I leave the Peace Country, I’ve selected paintings of my favorite places close to home and from around the world.
