“Our identity is tied to the land and those we share it with. People often value nature most when it is pristine and untouched. In opposition to this is the idea that it is something wild to be molded and conquered by
human hands. I am fascinated with nature as the space in between~ as something we are immersed in and a part of; a thing of unrivaled strength. When we shift our focus in this way, we acknowledge we belong to nature: the rocks, trees, earth, plants, animals, and waters. My images are an acknowledgement of the nature that exists in the spaces that are my home, and a chance to honor how these places connect us all across time.”

Elizabeth is from the East coast of Canada, but moved to Alberta with her husband and children six years ago. She did a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University, which she followed with a Bachelor of Education. She has the amazing opportunity to teach arts integration to colleagues and children, showing them how art can bring the beauty of various subjects alive when you follow your curiosity. She also teaches Kindergarten. These little ones and her own, remind her to look at the world with the wonder of a child.

Elizabeth uses a variety of mediums in her work, but has a deep love for painting with oils.
